Businessmark

Welcome to Businessmark, the Business Development theme of Quality at Heart, the Regional Recognition Model for tourism, leisure and hospitality businesses in the Heart of England.

Why Businessmark?

Excellence in business practices is central to the successful operation of any organisation. Businessmark puts business practices under the microscope, identifies areas for improvement, looks at ways to implement best practice solutions and recognises excellence.

What is Businessmark?

Businessmark is the Business Practice theme of Quality at Heart, the Regional Recognition Model for tourism, leisure and hospitality businesses and organisations in the Heart of England. Businessmark recognition is a certification of excellence in the processes which help an organisation to operate on a day-to-day basis. It provides specific support and recognition for:

  • planning for the business/organisation
  • organising finances
  • marketing
  • accessibility and environmental issues
  • use of technology
  • accreditation under existing business improvement standards

The Businessmark Levels of Recognition

Businessmark Levels of Recognition have been specifically designed to give tourism, leisure and hospitality businesses and organisations in the Heart of England the chance to benchmark their performance against their competitors and to implement improvement methods where necessary. Organisations need to satisfy the Quality at Heart Standards theme and pay a commitment fee before working to achieve Businessmark.

There are written criteria for each level and these request the provision of certain information which acts as evidence in support of an application for recognition. Recognition is given at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, reflecting the organisation’s achievements.

A Quality at Heart Executive is on hand to help businesses through the process at every stage. This support is completely free of charge. For information on the recognition process, please see the How do i achieve recognition page.

Which Level of Recognition?

Bronze

This level shows that the organisation has good business practices in place and strives for continual improvement. It will use feedback to achieve this.

Silver

Robust business practices operate throughout the organisation and it is committed to raising standards even further.

Gold

Extremely high standards of business practice; the organisation is regarded as an example of best practice.

When achieved the recognition levels above will act as a valuable marketing tool and will send a message to consumers that the organisation is committed to quality.
