West Midlands facts

The West Midlands comprises the districts of Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
The region is used largely a base for business tourists, but there are host of other sights and attractions:
- The twin cathedrals of Coventry, which is also home to the legend of Lady Godiva,
- historic museums such as the Black Country Museum at Dudley and Walsall Leather Museum are popular attractions.
Walsall is also famous for its illuminations, which take place in autumn each year and are one of the region’s most popular attractions.
There are many historic houses, associated with famous people from the region, together with a variety of castles, museums and stately homes.
